Universal Social Right

CONCLUSION

476. At this point we come to the end of universal social Right. Its importance will be obvious to the mind of a careful reader. This universal Right is the foundation of special-social Right which we must now study. In fact, the special Right of any society whatsoever will be found only by applying the principles of universal Right to the constitutive facts of the society. Universal Right always presides from the height of its universality over all human societies equally by providing them with equity and justice. In other words, it is universal Right which gives them their jural existence and action. In undertaking to expound the special Rights of the principal human societies, we simply deduce the most immediate consequences from the established principles. These principles always remain the same, although they derive more light from the extremely equable consequences which they produce of themselves. Their applications, however, are varied, delightful, sometimes unexpected, and always useful. The deduction of the applications is not difficult of itself. Our real effort will perhaps lie in verifying and analysing the social facts to which the teachings on universal Right have to be applied. Each of these facts, whose intimate nature is still scarcely known, becomes, through the application of universal Right, a title of right and a source of obligation.
