Act and potency are present in the human soul

865. From what I have said, it is clear that potency as well as act is present in the human soul. Indeed, the many accidental acts found in the soul must depend upon potencies which are related to them. These potencies, I said, have to be found and carefully described, but to do this we first have to investigate how acts and potencies can be contained in the soul.
